Prague is an old city straight out of a fairy tale — with small cobbled alleyways, quaint houses with cobbled roofs and four-framed window panes, a large Gothic church towering over a large market square, an old astronomical clock that dates back to the 15th century, and a pastry that has a long tradition and looks like a hollowed-out log, hence its name, trdelník….

Autumn in my Heart
Winter is here in Berlin. I just came out from an 8-hour AM shift and I am so happy to see the sun shining. Never mind that it is 4 degrees. It is a luxury! Caught this view on my walk home. Christmas Markets are alreads sprouting like mushrooms all over Berlin, and Germany or Europe at that. Soo stoked!🤗 Berlin is already lit. Today, 02.12.2017, I made a mistake by going to a Christmas Market alone. There are times that you can just be the wallflower that you are. But Christmas should not be one of those. It should…
It’s life. You are supposed to find any mundane hint that it could still be amazing no matter how it sucks. To notice a slight hint of color in spite of it being gray.
I am back again after months of hiatus and I hope I will be back again for good. I have so many things I wanted to share and better opted not to because 1) I feel tired most of the time, that 2) I simply feel dumb for words to express things and whatnots, which leads to 3) me being the lazy couch potato that I was most of the time. On a serious note though, I was undergoing a major (or not so major) change in my career, the transition required to be just the sloth that I was…
This will just be a short post (though I don’t really write long posts). I just want to share photos of my Spring experience (but really, they’re mostly of Sakura) in Berlin. This season is just soooo wonderful despite the crazy April weather throwing us ambivalent situations in a day. Spring reminds us that life is beautiful and that it is fleeting, that is why we have to enjoy every day, if not every minute of it. For more photos please feel free to visit my instagram account! I just saw Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in IMAX yesterday, and oh I fell in love ♥️♥️♥️. Not to be over cheesy whatsoever but my heart did skip a couple of times throughout the presentation and it did surpass my expectations. Was that a rhyme? I don’t care. And I don’t care about all the critics saying the movie was overrated though beautiful, or that Emma Watson spoiled the role as Belle or that the Beast was more handsome than the Prince at the ending. They were perfect and the movie was grand. I…
After a 7-day straight mess at work — all the excitement, the papers that need to be signed, by patients who adore and despise you from one moment to another, the medications that need to be administered on time, to different patients who have the same “Wunschzeiten”, and hesitantly ignoring emergency phone calls, etc, etc — I felt like I much needed a 1-day “Erholung“. Tegeler See was the place to be. It sure was packed on a weekend. But good thing we started early and was able to enjoy the place before it was getting crowded. It was located…
What could be better than celebrating the day of love in the city of love itself? Just kidding. I know there are a lot of things better. But it was our first time and we were all feeling touristy. Who cares? It was also our anniversary. Though we wanted to make it more intimate, just the two of us traveling, traveling with friends was also fun. Our excitement paralleled their giddiness. Then I saw the famous Eiffel Tower. I once thought as a child how beautiful this iron tower was in France. Or rather how charming it was. But when I saw…
When I told my patient I was going to Brussels during my Urlaub (Vacation Leave), she asked me why in so outrageous a manner that for a second, I thought she might have a heart attack. Yes, she was overreacting. She said why Brussels when there are more interesting places in Europe that I have to tick off my Places-to-visit list first. She said why when Brussels is so dull and boring and there is nothing good to see. I ignored her. I didn’t owe her explanation anyway😏. It was quite simple though. We just booked the cheapest flight we’d get…
Buildings and malls surround it. Tram lines, buses and trains circuit through it. Located in the middle of the middle (Mitte) of Berlin, this is considered the busiest part of the city. Last month it was just covered with stalls of the Christmas Market, and everyday it is covered with people going on with their own lives. Many would say I live near a place that is dangerous. Yes, a lot of things happen in this area. And just this one afternoon, I turned around and saw the place now covered with snow. I looked up at the “pin”(it really…
